Since being elected in 2020, Debbie has been honored to serve as your representative, advocate, and current Vice President on the Richardson ISD Board of Trustees.
Growing up, Debbie's mom instilled the value of education and hard work. Debbie carried this with her to become an educator and parental advocate. She earned her teaching degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio and completed her Masters in Education at Pepperdine University.
Debbie and her husband, Juan, are proud parents of two. Debbie dedicated her time as a PTA volunteer, chairing the Hospitality Committee, serving on the Diversity and Inclusion Committee, and as the Padres Unidos Parental Liaison at Richardson High School. She became a Silver Angel in 2019, and is a three-time PTA Golden Apple Award winner.
The Richardson ISD Board of Trustees is made up of seven total members. Five of the members must live within specific district lines and are elected by voters solely within the respective boundaries. The remaining two Trustees are elected at-large by the entire district. Trustee Debbie Rentería represents District 3, which is seen in the blue shaded map above.
